Ripple Industries founders participated in the 2024 Ironman competition as an ultimate team-building exercise.
The Ironman race is a long-distance triathlon competition that tests the endurance and determination of its participants. It consists of three consecutive events: a 1.2 mile (1.93 km) swim, a 56 mile (90.13 km) bicycle ride, and a marathon run of 13.1 miles (21.1 km). These segments are completed in that order and without any breaks in between.
The race is organized by the World Triathlon Corporation (WTC) and is held in various locations around the world. The competition is known for being one of the most challenging endurance events, pushing athletes to their physical and mental limits.
With over 3,500 participants, Ironman events are not just a test of individual endurance but also an opportunity for participants to build trust and teamwork. During the race, individuals depend on one another for encouragement, pacing, and shared experiences that foster a sense of camaraderie. This teamwork carries over to the workplace, enhancing overall productivity and cohesion.
At the end of the day, Jeromy states, “These events are about going the distance and building teamwork. We do it for friendship, fun, and challenge!”
